Area of expertise – I am an industry specialist in asbestos consultancy particularly in the housing sector. I work with clients to review their existing service, policies and procedures and develop and implement action plans to achieve compliance. I provide expert advice on legislation and Health and Safety in construction and as well as specialising in programme management for portfolios of property.
About me – With a background in social sciences and facility management, I have 18 years’ experience in the industry. Prior to founding Gradient, I held a number of positions in the public sector team at Owen Williams Consultants managing residential and commercial premises for major clients. With extensive experience across the sector, I have a firm belief that consultancy is all about making complex information clear, concise and relevant. I also manage the day to day running of the practice.
When I can tear myself away from Gradient I enjoy craft and printmaking, eating out and bargain hunting in my home town of Tunbridge Wells.

Area of expertise – I am a Chartered Building and Management Consultancy Surveyor with specialisms in complex problem solving, multi stakeholder projects and works to historic properties.
About me – Having worked for Lincoln Cathedral, Grosvenor and Owen Williams as surveyor through to senior manager, my career has been diverse and varied from project managing works to historic buildings, advising on national repair and maintenance contracts and cost consultancy for asset planning. With sound technical knowledge in construction and expertise in business management I am well placed to solve many property problems.
I have co-authored guidance notes and regularly contribute articles for the RICS website. As an accomplished speaker, I have chaired RICS roadshows and spoken at the National building surveying conference, championing small businesses. I have been re-elected to the RICS Governing Council for the term 2015-2017.
When I am not working, I am a seasoned ultra-marathon runner regularly competing in 100+ mile races and I’m also an active member of Eastbourne Round Table. I have recently been invited to become a Governor of Ratton School in Eastbourne.

Area of expertise – I am an experienced project manager and contract administrator having worked on many residential and commercial projects up to £1m in value. I also specialise in dilapidations, having acted for both landlords and tenants in successfully negotiating and settling claims in excess of £1/4m.
About me – With over 10 years’ experience as a Chartered Building Surveyor I joined Gradient in 2014 having previously worked for large London firms including Cluttons and CBRE. I have developed a broad range of skills and much of my experience has been with Prime Central London property, primarily in managing projects in multi occupied residential buildings. I am also an experienced Principal Designer and can advise clients on all aspects of construction health and safety.
I am also an accredited RICS APC assessor.
I spend my free time exploring London and Sussex with my young family as well as enjoying music festivals, gigs and real ale.

Area of expertise – I am a RICS Registered Valuer and have experience in residential surveying, defect diagnosis and providing valuations for a range of purposes. I have had a successful year navigating my way through the business rate appeals process and numerous party wall instructions.
About me – I joined Gradient in September 2015, having previously worked for a one of the largest providers of mortgage valuations in the country as a residential mortgage valuation surveyor. I am increasingly involved in professional work, including preparing licenses to alter and working on Party Wall commissions.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my partner, our three children, friends and family. We enjoy entertaining, days out, playing games and arts and crafts.

Area of expertise – I am an experienced Building Surveyor/Project Manager with 45 years’ experience in the construction industry. I have acted as a project manager, designer, building surveyor, space planner and contract administrator on construction projects throughout the UK and abroad. I also have extensive experience as a CDM co-ordinator/Principal Designer and in the field of health and safety generally.
About me – I have experience with the MOD, Retail sector, Health sector, London Fire Brigade, Residential blocks, and the Royal Bank of Scotland which has given me the specialist knowledge of the necessity of working within budget and time restraints. This knowledge has been used the client’s benefit in projects nationwide.
For the past 8 years I have run a number of frameworks in the health, banking and public sectors for my previous employer including carrying out site surveys, producing schedules of work, specifications and detailed plans as well as producing tender documents, running the projects on site and agreeing final accounts.
When I am not working I play Cricket, enjoy theatre and eating out, and walking in the beautiful Sussex countryside.

Area of expertise – I am an experienced property compliance consultant having worked in the housing, commercial & charity sectors. I have provided property compliance solutions for organisations with large property portfolios such as local authority housing, corporate building departments and housing associations. I have been instrumental in developing compliance programmes in areas such as Asbestos Management, Fire Safety, Legionella control and Lifting equipment. I have also provided health and safety management plans for numerous smaller companies within the private commercial sector.
About me – Prior to joining Gradient I spent 8 years working for (at that time) the UKs largest UKAS accredited Asbestos Consultancy working my way up from Surveyor to the organisation’s Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Manager responsible for maintaining accreditation to ISO standards 9001, 14001, 18001, 17020 & 17025. I then moved to St John Ambulance taking responsibility for health & safety for the South East in six counties.
When not working I enjoy travel, motorcycling and I play a little golf (badly).

Area of expertise – As Office Manager I am responsible for the day to day running of our office systems as well as providing administrative support to the team.
I also ensure our accreditations including Constructionline as well as our policy documents are kept up to date.
I am currently co-ordinating mass database uploads for local authorities in the South East.
About me – Before joining Gradient Consultants in February 2016 I worked as an ICT Implementation Manager, Key Account Co-ordinator and Office Manager.
In my spare time I enjoy up-cycling old pieces of furniture, skiing, camping, cooking and entertaining friends.

Area of expertise – As Finance and Project Administrator I am responsible for accounts. I also work with the Directors to oversee all major projects
About me – Having worked in a number of managerial roles in the public sector, including City College Brighton I joined Gradient in 2006. My background is in the education sector and much of my career has seen me working closely with the end users of services as well as managing budgets and resources.
I enjoy keeping fit, singing with Rock Choir and spending time with my family including granddaughters Isla and Ava, at home in Lewes. I am also a member of the Nevill Juveniles Bonfire Society.
